Why is this man standing in front of the Placer County Republican (and McClintock's Campaign HQ)  office building in Roseville last Saturday morning?

Oh, you just have to see this.

When Crazy Tom wrote this Aug 10, I knew I had hit black comedy gold because the thing was so riddled with errors that anyone seriously following energy issues and planning would think the person who wrote it was incompetent.  Crazy Tom had lots of public feedback on it,  and being an inflexible sort, instead of trying to get rid of it, he kept giving speeches with it.  Tom McClintock seemed intent on drilling his way to China on that, but last night, anticipating the Auburn Journal's story here,  http://auburnjournal.com/... ,  "China Cuba oil drilling gaffe has McClintock backpedaling, he finally caved.  

Recently, on Aug 10, Tom McClintock(R, Thousand Oaks) trying to carpetbag his way up into federal level congressional office by using our Northern CA district, released his version of an "energy" policy.  http://blog.tommcclintock.com/...   I looked at it, and I thought, this is seriously so bad, somebody must have been smoking crack when they composed it.  
That bad.  The entire thing, start to finish, is riddled with factual errors. This is what happens when Republicans running around here want something. They just make stuff up.
When you make stuff up, and then base your decisions on fantasy or deceit, the outcome is not good.  If you try to do this in engineering, the results are failure.  Let's learn about shale.

It's time to take a closer look at our Republican candidate running against Democrat Charlie Brown.

LameDuck State Senator Tom McClintock (R,  Thousand Mailing Addresses, currently using one in SoCal ) the Republican candidate for CA- 04, a district in the North,  went to the Rocklin Unified School District Board on Wed, July 16,  and did a little 3 minute speech in favor of  Rocklin Academy's company being able to establish a charter high school for grades 7 to 12, which would be called Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, aka "WSCA."  http://www.wscacademy.org/

I went to three of them.  This was the one my family participated in.  I decided after looking at all my pictures that Auburn was worth its own photo diary.  Sometimes you see something just goofy and endearing enough that you don't want any Republicans messing it up... did somebody say Republican? I didn't see that guy there.  We'll stick him in his own story later.

The End of Primary Party was held in a newly renovated, homey yet hip looking brick building in the old downtown that now is a new small business, a restaurant and bar called the Urban. It was attended by ordinary people. There were no lobbyists, no TV cameras, no boom trucks, no Big Names making a spectacle. Yet there was an energy there.

I'm at the Urban Restaurant in old downtown Roseville, and we're having an "end of the Primary Party !"

Please come in and say Hello, and tell us how HAPPY you are that the primary process is over and we have a nominee for... CA-04 on the Democratic ticket, ret. USAF Lt Col. Charlie Brown.

And we have a Presidential Nominee also.  Please let's just kick back and relax and let our hair down (wow, that phrase just dated me) and think good things for the summer.

(Earlier today, dailykos poster Jerome a Paris posted a diary about his financial series "Anglo Disease - My job is done,"  http://www.dailykos.com/... in which I left a comment that several asked me to expand into a diary. This is it.)

One of the largest problems I see in our efforts to get both the politicians and the weary and cynical voters who are turned off by the entire political process is to just get them to turn loose and stop repeating the cliches they have stuck in their brains.
If you really don't like something in our society, you do have the power to change it.  You might not change it a lot, but just by thinking about changing something, or believing that something can be done, you begin that process. Then you see what works, and what doesn't, until you find a solution.
This is what engineers do. This is what scientists do.  This is what pastors and reverends and monks do. This is what plumbers do.  This is what teachers do.  This is what parents do. This is what your parents did.

And then we got to our generation, and the process suddenly seems .... impossible. Fruitless. Hopeless.  How do we change this?

Greetings from Northeastern California, where the 4th Congressional District is slowly turning blue.  On Saturday, April 26th, the Charlie Brown Campaign for Congress greeted over 60 eager volunteers that morning in Roseville, ready to get to work and let people know what a great Congressman he'll be for our district. In a Day of Action, there was precinct walking, voter registration outreach, and phone banking. And then the candidate went to Grass Valley for the Home show... and met more people. Brown is running on the Democratic ticket to replace the Incumbent.(R, Corrupt,Useless,and Not Indicted... Yet)  

It's never too early to remind people there is an alternative to the potential of 2 more years of one's  next Representative being under investigation by the FBI and the DOJ.  These are the people who are going to make it happen, it was:    

Standing Room Only at Charlie's HQ's This Saturday !

The Olympic Torch Relay, which has been met with worldwide protests everywhere since it started its journey in Greece earlier this spring, and was met with more on- site protests in France, England, and San Francisco, US, before leaving for Argentina, has finally made it to its last stop near China, before entering Australia, Japan, South and North Koreas, and Vietnam,...   then back to China finally...  which is Jakarta, Indonesia. The Indonesians are taking no chances and are tightly regulating the venue. The flame is being kept in a secret location until the "show."

For security reasons, the original 20km (15-mile) route has been cut to a few laps around the capital's main stadium.

It will be watched by 5,000 people, who had to apply for special identity cards, and 2,500 security officers.

The April Quarterly FEC financial reports for candidates running to replace  the scandalized and retiring before he gets indicted John Doolittle, (R, Friend of Abramoff)  were finally showing up in the electronic retrieval bins, and I went dumpster diving.

It never fails, I finally go to post something and my slightly faster internet dial up goes pffffffffflllllltt like a flat tire. I really meant to illustrate this with cute pictures, but I'm going to try throwing the text up first and see what happens.
